About Us

Our Story

While on a community visit we saw one of our students running in a beautiful peach coloured salwar khameez. When we asked the mother where she bought it from she said “Yeh tho meine banaya hai” (I have made this). As we walked further we met many mothers, heard about their dreams and their frustrations of being bound down to the four walls, them being dependent on their husbands financially and them not being able to contribute to their child’s education and community welfare. As we moved from house to house we realized there lay immense potential hidden behind those doors that needed an opportunity to break free. We connected the dots and came up with an idea of making these mothers financially independent by providing them with livelihood skills. Skills that would lead to employability and help them channelize their earnings towards their child’s education.

What We Do?

ii) Community Building: We believe an empowered community is one which identifies problems and designs solutions through working together. We at Khwaab constantly ask ourselves ' What will stop a woman, her child and her community from achieving their dreams now and in the future?'
